Essie Cade received her degree in Athletic Training in 2000 from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. She went on to receive her license in massage therapy and bodywork from the Lexington Healing Arts Academy in 2001. Especially since the birth of her daughter in 2003, she has been using massage to help her family unwind, sleep better and provide a greater sense of well-being.
Tender Touch Ministries and Tender Touch Infant Massage was established to help other parents and caregivers learn the same benefits of a loving, tender touch. In 2005, she took the opportunity to get certified as a mat Pilates instructor with Paragon Pilates and in 2009 began classes at the Lexington Athletic Club. And in 2012, she became an ISFTA certified personal trainer and rehab fitness specialist where she began training at the Central-Clemson Recreation Center.
Since 2000, Essie has worked in various settings including chiropractic and physical therapy offices, the YMCA, Images Model and Talent Agency, and has provided Tender Touch Infant Massage classes across the eastern United States and on the Island of La Gonave, Haiti.
The goals and objectives of Tender Touch Infant Massage are to enable caregivers and help them understand the immense physical, cognitive, and emotional benefits of massage, specifically for infants.
